Universal Studios Hollywood is set to deliver an unforgettable experience in 2026, continuing the momentum from the opening of Epic Universe in 2025. With a mix of new attractions and beloved returning events, the theme park promises something for every visitor. From high-speed roller coasters to immersive movie-themed experiences, there’s no shortage of excitement to look forward to.
New Roller Coaster: Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift
One of the most anticipated additions to Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026 will be the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster. While specific dates have not been announced yet, this attraction is expected to be the West Coast’s first-ever high-speed, outdoor coaster. The ride vehicles will feature 360-degree rotation, offering a thrilling experience for fans of the popular franchise.

Alongside this new attraction, Universal Studios Hollywood will continue its tradition of seasonal events. Mega Movie Summer, which runs through August 9, will feature film-themed menu items such as the Minions Orange Banana Float. Last year, the Hogsmeade area introduced Hogwarts House-themed churros, with many fans favoring the berry Ravenclaw churro.
A new addition to the backlot tour this year is the boat from The Odyssey, which was used for additional scenes filmed at Universal Studios last year. This gives visitors a chance to explore the actual filming location after seeing stars like Zendaya, Tom Holland, and Anne Hathaway in the movie.

As August comes to an end, fans can prepare for Back to Hogwarts in the Wizarding World, just before Halloween Horror Nights returns on September 3. The ticketed event will run through November 1 and include all-new haunted houses, scare zones, and themed menu items. One standout item from 2024 was the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man S’more, inspired by the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire house.
TikTok creators are already speculating about what haunted houses might be coming to HHN this year. Rumors include a Lady Gaga Mayhem experience. Fans were proven right about both the Sinners house (announced in May) and the Stranger Things Season 5 walkthrough. On Instagram, Universal teased that guests will get to experience the Upside Down again, joining the gang for one last adventure as they try to defeat Vecna.

After Halloween, the holiday season will begin at Universal Studios. Seasonal festivities will include new treats, merchandise, and the return of the viral Grinchmas.
Universal Orlando Resort Celebrates the Seasons
Just like its Hollywood counterpart, Universal Orlando Resort will also celebrate Back to Hogwarts from August 1 to September 1, offering plenty for Harry Potter fans to enjoy. During the fall, the Dark Arts will return to the Wizarding World when Halloween Horror Nights makes its comeback. The event will run from August 28 through November 1, featuring all-new haunted houses inspired by movies and original ideas, including Sinners and Stranger Things mazes.

Once Halloween has wrapped up, the Holidays at Universal Orlando Resort will begin on November 14 and run through the new year. Guests can expect seasonal fun with Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Grinchmas, and Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s.
For those who want to experience more HHN fun year-round, Universal Horror Unleashed opened in 2025 across from The Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. This spooky experience includes movie-themed mazes, such as Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer, and will continue to run in 2026 from Wednesday through Sunday between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m.

If you’re visiting Sin City, don’t miss the smoked paprika cheese-stuffed Boiler Bread from the Blumhouse-themed Premier House. It’s a 5 out of 5 appetizer that many still dream about.
