RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Reno-Tahoe International Airport is set to unveil a new Park & Walk lot on Tuesday, July 21, according to airport officials.

The new lot is situated at 2555 Aviation Way and offers 560 parking spaces. This area was previously used as an overflow lot. It features the airport’s lowest daily parking rate at $16 per day.

Travelers should be prepared for a 10 to 15 minute walk from the lot to the terminal. It’s important to note that there will be no shuttle service provided for this location.

This new facility operates without tickets and only accepts credit card payments. Travelers are required to use the same credit card when exiting to complete the payment process.

Jena Esposito, manager of public affairs for RNO, highlighted the challenges of space constraints and parking availability during peak travel times. “We realize that parking can be a challenge for everyone. During typical busy travel periods, we are often at max with our parking capacity,” she said.

Airport officials emphasized that the new lot is specifically designed to accommodate travelers coming from rural communities. “We want to ensure that passengers traveling in from places like Winnemucca or Elko, as well as other rural areas, have a viable option to park here before starting their trip,” Jena explained.

To help travelers make informed decisions, real-time space availability will be updated on the airport’s parking page online.

For more information about the new Park & Walk lot and other parking options, visitors can check out the airport’s official website at www.renoairport.com/parking-transportation/parking/.
