Lenny Kravitz has always had a unique approach to fashion, and his latest appearance on the cover of Men’s Health Magazine is no exception. The 62-year-old musician recently shared insights into his workout habits and his signature style, which often includes leather pants or jeans — a choice that might seem unusual but has a clear rationale.

Kravitz explained that his sartorial choices are deeply tied to his lifestyle. “I perform onstage in leather, denim, whatever, so those are the pants I wear to train,” he said. This decision isn’t just about aesthetics; it also serves a practical purpose. “It also means I can fit in a workout anytime, anywhere.”

When it comes to tracking his physical condition, Kravitz relies on a simple yet effective method: how his clothes fit. Wearing a mere size 28-inch pant, he noted, “I can gauge everything by how I’m in my pants … Like, if my pants are a little tight, I know I’m getting outta shape.” This approach has been reinforced by advice from his friend Denzel Washington, who once told him, “The pants don’t lie, the pants don’t lie.”

Back in 2024, Kravitz stirred some online reactions when he posted a video on Instagram of himself lifting weights with his trainer at the gym. Fans were taken aback by his outfit — boots, leather pants, a mesh top, and sunglasses. One comment read, “Man! Boots and leather pants while working out is crazy! Always on brand!” Another added, “Leather pants, mesh top and sunglasses in the gym. Lenny is the man!”

At the time, Kravitz spoke with Variety about his wardrobe choices. He clarified, “I’m always working out in leather pants or jeans and boots and whatever — if I’m not doing cardio,” adding, “If I’m doing cardio, obviously I’m going to wear sweats because I’m going to be sweating all over the place. But if I’m lifting weights, I don’t sweat so much.”

Ironically, during the cover shoot for the latest issue of Men’s Health, Kravitz was dressed in a more casual outfit — sweatpants paired with a mesh tank top. This contrast highlights how his style evolves depending on the context, whether it’s a performance, a workout, or a photo session.

Despite his unconventional choices, Kravitz remains consistent in his commitment to fitness. His approach to training and fashion reflects a blend of practicality, personal expression, and a deep understanding of his body’s needs. Whether he’s wearing leather pants or sweatpants, one thing is clear: Lenny Kravitz knows what works for him.
