The Rumors About the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s Design
Recently, there have been various claims circulating online about the upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra. These rumors suggest that Samsung might be considering a new design for its next flagship smartphone, including a horizontal camera island. This style has been seen on devices like the Google Pixel phones, the old Galaxy S10, and even the iPhone Air. However, the question remains: how accurate are these claims?
A recent report from a reliable source provides some clarity on this topic.
Camera Layout Rumors Are Unfounded

According to a new report from a credible tipster, all of the rumors about the Galaxy S27 Ultra having a horizontal camera island are incorrect. The report states that while Samsung is considering some changes, a horizontal layout is not among them. Instead, the company is focusing on other revisions to the device.
What Can We Expect From the Galaxy S27 Ultra?
The report suggests that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will likely resemble the current Galaxy S26 Ultra in terms of design. However, there may be minor adjustments aimed at reducing manufacturing costs. This decision comes as the tech industry continues to face challenges such as component shortages and rising memory prices.
One potential change could involve removing a camera lens. The report indicates that Samsung might consider this if it believes that users can do without it. In the worst-case scenario, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could look identical to the S26 Ultra but with one fewer camera lens.
Is the Galaxy S27 Ultra Worth It Next Year?

Despite these potential changes, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is still expected to be one of the top smartphones of 2027. Even if Samsung continues to use the same 5,000 mAh battery and only makes minor performance improvements, the phone is likely to deliver an excellent user experience.
However, the argument for purchasing a Galaxy S26 Ultra during a sale or after a price drop may become stronger once the S27 series is released.
Not That Fast, Internet!

From my perspective, I have never placed much faith in the rumors about a horizontal camera layout. It would be unusual for Samsung to abandon its iconic design for something that doesn’t even look particularly appealing.
I also find it hard to believe that the company would remove a camera lens. It would make more sense for Samsung to cut costs in other areas or introduce a price increase rather than compromise the overall experience of its flagship device.
