MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A new law in Mississippi is helping teachers get raises. Teachers and teacher assistants will see a boost in pay for the upcoming school year. It amounts to a $2,000 raise. The Mississippi Association of Educators notes that it’s appreciated and every bit helps, but said it’s somewhat canceled out by rising insurance costs and cost of living.
