Casio has launched pre-orders for the DW5600TNT-7 in the United States. This new G-Shock watch is a collaboration between Casio and the Seoul-based streetwear brand thisisneverthat. The watch was first introduced in Japan last month and is available for purchase at a price of $155.
Specifications of the DW5600TNT-7
The DW5600TNT-7 retains the signature square case design of the standard DW-5600 series. However, it replaces the usual opaque materials with a translucent resin bezel and strap. The clear hardware is paired with an inverted LCD display, which features light text on a dark background, resulting in a high-contrast black-and-white color scheme. This design draws inspiration from 1990s streetwear aesthetics while maintaining the core shape of the original watch.
Casio has incorporated several unique details for this particular release. The logo of the streetwear brand is printed across the lower half of the watch face, engraved on the metal case back, and stamped on the resin band loop. Additionally, the standard “Protection” and “G-Shock” text that is typically engraved on the top and bottom of the bezel has been given a phosphorescent finish, allowing these words to glow in the dark.
Performance and Features
Beneath the collaborative branding, the watch maintains the standard hardware and durability features of the 5600 series. It measures 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 mm and weighs 52 grams. The display is protected by mineral glass, and the case is built to withstand Casio’s standard shock resistance as well as 200 meters of water resistance.
For illumination, the watch uses a white LED backlight with an afterglow function. It also includes a flash alert feature, which causes the backlight to flash in sync with the buzzer for alarms, hourly time signals, and countdown timer alerts.
The watch is powered by a single CR2016 coin-cell battery, which Casio estimates will last for approximately five years before requiring replacement.
The DW5600TNT-7 comes in custom packaging designed specifically for the collaboration and can be pre-ordered directly through Casio’s US website.
Additional Releases
In related news, Casio has recently launched the Pro Trek PRJ-01 series, which features analog dials, solar charging, and a carabiner clip. Additionally, five new Edifice EFK-200 automatic watches have been released.
