President Donald Trump’s net approval rating among men has experienced a decline, according to a recent Focaldata/Financial Times poll. This shift is notable for a demographic that played a crucial role in his re-election to the White House in 2024. The survey indicates that Trump’s net approval among male voters has dropped to -19, down from -13 in June, reflecting a six-point decrease within a month.

This change is significant because men were one of Trump’s strongest support bases during the 2024 presidential election. He secured a 12 percent lead over then-Vice President Kamala Harris among male voters, making them a vital component of his electoral strategy.

The White House Spokesman Davis Ingle provided a standard response when questioned about the poll, stating, “The ultimate poll was November 5th 2024 when nearly 80 million Americans overwhelmingly elected President Trump to deliver on his popular and commonsense agenda. No other President in history has accomplished more for the American people than President Trump, who is working tirelessly to create jobs, cool inflation, increase housing affordability, and more. The President has already made historic progress not only in America but around the world, and this is just the beginning as his agenda continues taking effect.”

What To Know

The poll was conducted from June 26 to June 30, 2026, among 2,016 adults, with results weighted by age group, gender, region, education level, ethnicity, recalled 2024 presidential vote, recalled 2020 presidential vote, political interest, rurality, and media trust. It also aligns with a broader trend of declining approval for the president.

Focaldata’s latest survey found Trump’s overall approval at 34 percent, while disapproval stands at 57 percent. Recent polling highlights growing voter dissatisfaction over the economy, inflation, and the cost of living—issues that consistently rank high among Americans ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

“President Trump’s net approval rating has reached an all-time low of -23, with the share of Americans disapproving of his performance rising for the fourth consecutive month to 57%,” the poll notes in part.

On immigration and border security, the president’s approval rating in the new poll is 41 percent, compared with 46 percent disapproval. On inflation and the cost of living, the president’s approval rating is 20 percent, while disapproval is 67 percent. On jobs and the economy, the president received a 29 percent approval rating compared to a 56 percent disapproval, the survey shows.

Polling in March of this year had already indicated a growing decline among male voters. While male voters have generally remained more supportive of Trump than female voters overall, the latest Focaldata results suggest that even one of the president’s most reliable constituencies could be showing signs of erosion.

What Other Polls Show

A poll taken by The Economist/YouGov last week shows Trump’s overall approval rating is 38 percent compared to a 58 percent disapproval rating. Among men, Trump’s approval rating was 44 percent compared to a 53 percent disapproval rating.

The poll was conducted from June 26 to June 29, 2026, among 1,606 U.S. adults with a margin of error of 3.2 percent.

A Big Data Poll shows that Trump’s overall approval rating is 42.9 percent compared to a 53.4 percent disapproval rating. The poll shows that 3.6 percent are undecided. Among men, Trump’s approval rating is 50.3 percent compared to a 47.1 percent disapproval rating, and 2.6 percent are undecided.

The poll was taken from June 26 – 28, 2026, among 2,971 registered voters and has a margin of error of 1.8 percent.
